Seventeen young women will compete for the opportunity to represent this country at the 2022 Miss World competition.
On Sunday, the local franchise holder, Charu Lochan Dass, revealed the names of the contestants in the local leg.
Ms. Lochan Dass said she hopes to return prestige to the local pageant.
She said the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts has partnered with the franchise holder to put on this year’s pageant.
In addition to the clothing, the winner of this year’s competition will also receive a host of prizes including a scholarship, cash, and a Carnival costume from Tribe.
