A 43-year-old man was granted bail with a surety in the sum of $20,000.00 with a cash alternative of $10,000 when he appeared before a Princes Town Court, charged with Cruelty to a Child on Monday 17th February, 2025.
The accused is to report to the Moruga Police Station three times per week. He is not to have any contact with the victim directly or indirectly unless permitted by the Children’s Authority.
It is alleged that around 8:45pm on Monday 10th February, 2025 the accused physically abused his son whilst holding a knife on the roadway.
The matter was reported to the Moruga Police Station on February 11th, 2025 and the Special Victims Unit launched an investigation into the matter. The accused was arrested on the same day and charged on Wednesday 12th February, 2025. He is expected to reappear in court on March 17th ,2025.
