4 Chess Players Qualify For Caribbean And Central American Games

Four chess players from Trinidad and Tobago have qualified to represent this country at the Caribbean and Central American Games in El Salvador..

The games take place June 23rd to July 8th and will see Ysvett Hermoso Joel, Adaya Johnson, Joshua Johnson and Hayden Lee flying the flag for team TTO on the Chess Board…

According to the technical regulations for the event, each country has 2 players per category to play on 2 boards, 1 and 2.

Each player will vie for a gold, silver, or bronze medal per board.

TTCA President Sonja Johnson was elated that Trinidad and Tobago will be represented at such a momentous occasion given that this is the first time Chess will be one of the sports at the CAC Games.

The players will now have to engage in official training in preparation for these games and the TTCA looks forward to the support from the TTOC and the Ministry of Sport and Community Development in our bid to ensure that Trinidad and Tobago has access to resources to perform well in this event.
