Fifty two families in the Toco/Sangre Grande area have received Grants amounting to over three quarters of a million dollars from the National Commission for Self Help Limited.
The Grant distribution on Monday, which is one of several carded for the month, saw $810,000 being distributed to the families to aid in infrastructural work needed on their homes.
Chairman of the Commission, Adrian Winter, said 47 families were initially targeted in the area, but they decided to extend the Grant to a further five.
Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe, said such Grant distributions will continue in several areas throughout the country, expressing the need for such relief to be provided to families.
