For the first time in their history, the Trinidad and Tobago Under-16 Female Netball Team emerged victorious in the 21st Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament held in Barbados.
Team T&T faced St. Lucia in the Final on Saturday, defeating them 34–20.
But it wasn’t the usual dominant performance for T&T in the first half, and they went in at the break leading by five points at 18–13.
However, thanks to strong performances from Shian Lewis and Makayla Grant, T&T found their feet in the second half and emerged victorious.
T&T also claimed the titles of “the best defending team” and “the team with the best goal average” after scoring 181 goals.
