Come February 2026, the community of Sangre Grande will have one of its historical landmarks fully restored.
On Wednesday the sod was turned for the Rededication/Restoration of the Sangre Grande TTPost Legacy Building.
The restoration project, budgeted at just under $7 million, is being executed through TTPost, with technical oversight from NIPDEC.
Minister of Public Utilities Colm Imbert, who was joined by the PNM candidate for Toco/Sangre Grande and the Minister of Works and Transport for the ceremony, said once completed, the building will return to service as a TTPost corporate shop with a TTConnect kiosk, an EV charging station, a post café for community interaction, and a Philately Centre and Postal Museum to honour the story of how communication once travelled across this country, one stamp at a time.
