WASA Begins Repairs To Beetham Sinkhole

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) began repair works to a sinkhole along 5th Street in Beetham Gardens on Thursday.

One Beetham resident said the area has been sinking bit by bit over time, and eventually caved in a few weeks ago.

Ms. Blackman said the adults in the area have to keep a watchful eye on the children to prevent them from playing near the hole.

She said residents have also complained that the water is backing up in their sinks, and with the present threat of the Covid-19 virus, she is asking for the hole to be fixed soon.

The sinkhole was caused by the collapse of an underground sewer pipeline close to 5th and Main Streets in Beetham Gardens.
