The Miss World representative for Trinidad and Tobago, Jeanine Brandt said it was not her intention to bring ill repute to the country.
In an official response released on Tuesday, Ms. Brandt explained that the now viral video was a part of the competition where she was expected to present her Beauty With a Purpose project in 2 minutes before a panel of judges.
Through her NGO Brandt Beauty Foundation, Miss T&T World explained she worked assiduously to aid and support underprivileged communities.
Ms. Brandt stated that she recognized the importance of her role and appreciates its significance and it was not her objective to portray this country in a negative light.
