One opposition member of parliament is calling on the government to address the issue of unemployment in this country.
MP Rushton Paray, at Sunday’s United National Congress Press Conference, noted that figures provided by the National insurance Board are alarming, as the number of contributions fell by 21.8% between 2015 and 2020.
The Opposition MP also criticized, what he called, the government’s failure to diversify from oil and gas noting that this country’s economic terrain is not in a good position. Quoting the Prime Minister regarding the country’s position to continue in the business of natural gas production, MP Paray said this is counterproductive for the economy, and not forward-thinking.
