PCR Machine At SFGH Back In Service

The PCR machine at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) is back in full service.

The update came from the Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, as he responded to a question in the Lower House on Friday.

The PCR machine had been down for over two weeks.

The Minister was also asked to state the number of clinical procedures affected by the downtime of the machine.

Testing for patients at the SFGH continued as the Minister said services were outsourced from the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, the Trinidad Public Health Lab, and the private sector.
