After two years, the sound steel will return to the Queen’s Park Savannah on February 19th. This, as 27 steel bands are scheduled to perform in a concert called the Pan in the Sancoche.
A release from Pan Trinbago states that the event promises a little bit of this and a little bit of that with Single Pan and Small Conventional Bands as the headline acts. Supporting performances will also include Traditional Mas characters and veteran calypsonians.
Following three days of auditions, selected bands, 15 Single Pan and 12 Small Conventional Bands, will each play a vintage calypso of not more than eight minutes.
The line-up for Saturday includes the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, San Juan All Stars Old Tech, and Shades In Steel Nu Stars.
Several additional cash incentives sponsored by corporate Trinidad and Tobago will be awarded based on performances.
