ANTHONY SEEPERSAD, the fifth man who escaped from the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca, on Sunday night, was caught by police on Wednesday.
He was found hiding in the trunk of a vehicle being driven by a lone male suspect, along the Morne Coco Road in Maraval. Both men were taken into police custody and investigations are ongoing.
Seepersad is now facing an additional charge of ‘Escaping Lawful Custody’.
The other four men who were recaptured after escaping from the Arouca Prison, appeared before an Arima Magistrate on Tuesday.
KEVIN JAGDEO, THEON THOMAS, KURIEN DOUGLAS and SHAQUILLE DRAYTON were charged with escaping lawful custody.
They were sentenced to two years, eight months each to run consecutively, on the completion of their present sentences being served.
