Candlelight Procession In Tobago For Blaxx

Dexter ‘Blaxx’ Stewart is being buried today in a ceremonious end to a good life.

Tobagonians came together on Tuesday night to honour the Soca singer who passed away on March 28th.

Shorti Promotions and friends, clad in t-shirts with printed photos of Blaxx, hosted a candlelight procession. They took to the streets of Mason Hall chipping alongside a music truck playing all his hits.

Organiser of the event, Kenneth Ottley, described Blaxx as his close friend. Another friend of the late Soca artiste, Keston Williams, journeyed to Tobago to join the celebration. He fondly remembered the relationship he too shared with Blaxx, describing him as the greatest.

Both Ottley and Williams lamented that enough was not done to recognise the work produced by Blaxx. They called on the Government and citizens to honour talented Trinbagonians while they are alive.
