AG Armour Meets With Chief Parliamentary Counsel Ian Macintyre

Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Reginald Armour today met with the Chief Parliamentary Counsel, Ian Macintyre.

A release from the AG’s office indicated that they had a cordial meeting in the Attorney General’s Chambers and they have agreed to continue their discussion.

Before former Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi was removed from office, he wrote to Chief Justice Ivor Archie, requesting that his right hand legal man, Mr. Macintyre, be suspended for insubordination, breach of his duty to cooperate, and breach of duty to maintain trust and confidence.

Since taking up the office, AG Armour sought the advice of Senior and Junior Counsel in the imbroglio involving Minister Al-Rawi and Mr. MacIntyre.

The AG said he has referred the issue of Minister Al-Rawi’s request for disciplinary action to be taken against Mr. MacIntyre, as well as Mr. MacIntyre’s request through his Attorney Anand Ramlogan for the withdrawal of Minister Al-Rawi’s complaint to Counsel Douglas Mendes and Michael Quamina.
