The body of a man was found on board the Vincentian vessel, MV Fair Chance, on Thursday.
According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, members of the Coast Guard’s Diving Department in conjunction with commercial divers provided by the owner of the vessel, were conducting an exercise to remove cargo that was blocking the entryways to the vessel when they discovered the body.
The body was removed and handed over to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service for further investigation.
On Sunday, the Coast Guard received a report of an overturned vessel near Monos Island, with seven persons on board.
Two people were rescued on Sunday by a passing vessel and taken to Staubles Bay where they were medically examined. Others reported as part of the group remain missing.
