TTADA Questions Tax Exemptions On Small Hybrid Vehicles

The announcement by the Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert on Twitter on Saturday, that from mid-May this year there will be no taxes on small hybrid vehicles up to 1600 CCs is not sitting well with President of the TT Automotive Dealers’ Association, Visham Babwah. He says that the fine print needs to be closely examined.

The TTADA President says that full size cars are not being manufactured with the specifications for the exemption.
Mr. Babwah is asking the Minister to come clean about the actual size of vehicle which can be purchased without the taxes. He believes the tax concessions should be designed to cater for typical car owners as they will be most affected by the increase in fuel prices.
