A six year old boy died at the Port of Spain General Hospital on Tuesday after he was rushed there in an unconscious state by relatives.
According to police reports, Zakariah Charles was brought to the Port of Spain General Hospital by his mother and stepfather at around 8pm. He was pronounced dead at 8:37pm.
The couple, who live at Building at East Dry River, told police that Zakariah went to take a bath at around 7pm on Tuesday. They reportedly heard a loud noise and found the boy lying on the bathroom floor unconscious. According to police, there were several bruises about the six year old’s body.
Homicide detectives are continuing inquiries.
