A manhunt is on for an escaped prisoner who is considered armed and dangerous.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service, at around 5pm on Saturday, Nigel Mungroo, an inmate of the Remand Prison in Golden Grove, complained of feeling unwell.
The Prison Service says while being escorted to the Infirmary, he made a dash for the perimeter fence near Waterloo Road, Arouca.
An alarm was immediately raised, and officers attached to the Prisons’ Emergency Response Unit and the Arouca Police responded.
Mungroo is 5′ 4″ in height, has scars on his nose and arms, and the name ‘Nigel’ is tattooed on his neck.
His last known address is 24A Crawford Branch Trace, Penal.
