T&T road cyclist Teniel Campbell improved on last year’s performance to finish first among her teammates at the 2022 edition of the Paris-Roubaix Women’s Race.
Campbell ‘s 42nd position was BikeExchange-Jayco’s highest placing in the second annual 116 kilometre Women’s Road Race.
This year’s race attracted over 130 of the world’s best women road cyclists.
In 2021, Campbell finished outside the time cut, but said she’d enjoyed the race and pledged to come back stronger.
T&T’s lone elite women’s road cyclist delivered on both promises on the grueling course from the French capital to the town bordering the Belgian border.
Italy’s Elisa Longo Borghini won the race in 3:10.54, Lotte Kopecky and Lucinda Brand were second and third.
