TT Out CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship

Trinidad and Tobago’s campaign at the CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship came to an end with a 10-0 defeat to favourites Mexico in Santo Domingo last evening.

Graciela Almanza got a 9th minute opening goal. There were also first-half goals for Layla Ismail and Sofia Garcia.  Brenda Vega Garcia scored a beaver-trick, finding the net in the 63rd, 65th, 80th and 84th minutes. Maribel Hernandez scored a two minute brace in the 73rd and 75th mintes and Tatiana Dorrel rounded off the scoring in the 88th.

T&T lost 4-0 to Nicaragua on Monday, and 5-1 to Panama on Saturday.

Mexico are yet to concede a goal, winning their three matches 10-0, 7-10, and 10-0 to advance to the Round of 16.

T&T finished bottom of Group E without a point, and the young squad will return home with valuable lessons for the future.
