Eid Celebrations In Tobago

Tobago House of Assembly officials and representatives from other religious organisations joined the Muslim community during their Eid observance.

Bringing greetings during a short function at the Lowlands Masjid, Imam Waheed Dowlat said Eid-ul-Fitr is a day of celebration, thanksgiving, and giving back to those in need.

Head of the Tobago Muslim Community, Kamael Ali, said this year’s celebrations should serve as a lesson for all.

Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Farley Augustine recalled the warm welcome he received from the Muslim members when he made an unexpected visit to the Masjid on Friday. He stressed that today’s Eid observance was a day of love, adding that Trinidad and Tobago is a blessed community.

Members of the Seventh Day Adventist and Bahai religions also shared messages of unity, while Area Representative and Secretary for Youth Development, Wane Clarke, gave the commitment to support youth programmes undertaken by the Muslim community.
