Action in the Ascension Football League continued with its traditional Friday night double header at the La Horquetta Recreation Grounds.
In the first game, a battle between third-place Cunupia FC and fourth, Deportivo Point Fortin. It was the men from deep south Deportivo that came away with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Andrei Pacheco in the 6th minute and Shackiel Henry in the 66th minute.
The second game was a battle between table toppers the Defence Force and cellar-placed Moruga FC and the result showed the gulf in class between the two teams as the Army came away 8-0 winners. Brent Sam led the way for the Defence Force with a hat trick with goals in the 22nd , 58th and 75th minute. Jameel Boatswain scored a double in the 38th and 54th while Justin Garcia , Jamali Garcia, and Kevon Blackman had goals in the 20th, 67th and 70th minute.
