An electrical power outage at the Navet Water Treatment Plant on Monday is being blamed for residents of South East Trinidad receiving dirty water in their taps. On Monday the Water And Sewerage Authority (WASA) advised customers experiencing a discoloured supply in their lines, not to use the water.
The affected areas stretched from Princes Town to parts of Mayaro, Moruga and Barrackpore. Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Paula Gopee-Scoon explained the situation, in response to a question in the Senate, on behalf of the Minister of Public Utilities.
