Trinidad and Tobago assistant referee Caleb Wales has been appointed to officiate at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Wales’s appointment does not come as a surprise to former FIFA Assistant referee Merere Gonzales as it’s a continuation of the legacy of this country producing match officials of the highest calibre and a testament to the work that Wales has put in.
Gonzales is even more proud of his colleague’s accomplishment based on the fact that we have not had much football locally for him to better his craft.
