Local Government Bill Passed In The Lower House

The Miscellaneous Provisions (Local Government Reform ) Bill 2020, was read for a third time on Monday and passed in the House of Representatives. There were 20 votes for, 0 against, and 12 abstentions.

Before the Bill was passed, Leader of Government Business, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Camille Robinson-Regis, said there were numerous opportunities for consultation on the matter of Local Government Reform.

The Bill now moves to the Upper House for debate.
