Senate Debates CCJ As Final Court Of Appeal

Attorney General Reginald Armour lent support to the Private Motion on the recognition of the Caribbean Court of Justice as the final court of appeal in Trinidad and Tobago laid in the Senate on Wednesday, noting that this will be in the best interest of the country.

Meanwhile, Senator Wade Mark said the opposition does not support the motion noting his side does not believe that the time is right to replace the Privy Council as the final court of appeal in this country. The opposition senator also cited no trust in the court.
