The Arima General Hospital resumed its urology and ophthalmology clinics from today, June 6th, as part of a transition period to resume medical operations at the health institution.
Speaking during the Recommissioning Ceremony on Sunday, Member of Parliament for Arima, Pennelope Beckles, said the return of the Hospital to the people of Arima is not only significant to the Borough of Arima, but to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, said while he was thankful the country survived one phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, he warned that the journey is not over.
Services will resume at the hospital in the coming days – paediatric surgeries, vascular clinics, and vascular surgeries will resume on June 21st. Additionally, the Hospital will be opened for general medical admissions by July 2022.
