Blind Welfare Association Celebrates 75th Year

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, says her Ministry will move to deepen its relationship with the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Welfare Association.

The assurance was given by the Minister as she addressed a celebration to mark the organisation’s 75th anniversary.

Minister Cox noted that Government provides 90% of the funding to run the Association. She applauded the organisation for the work that they have been doing over the last three quarters of a century.

Executive Officer of the Association, Kenneth Suratt, said he has seen many changes over the years and he expects to see many more.

The Blind Welfare Association took the opportunity to honour several of its past members with awards at Monday’s ceremony.
