From as early as 5AM on Tuesday, the Chaguanas Borough Corporation mobilised to pack and distribute sandbags to residents.
Earlier today, Mayor Faaiq Mohammed said thousands of bags were distributed and their phones have been ringing non-stop as the sandbags are in high demand. He’s urging burgesses to come directly to the stockpile of the Borough Corporation to collect their sandbags if they can – to ensure they receive it in a timely manner.
Mayor Mohammed is reminding everyone to be cautious during the storm watch period – and he assured that the Corporation is ready and prepared to render assistance.
