Operation Impact In La Romaine

Several members of the La Romaine community have partnered with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to launch the ‘Operation Impact’ initiative in their community.

The project is aimed at boosting community engagement through the cultivation of a community garden. On Saturday, the group held an agricultural seminar to teach participants about the economic benefits of growing their own food.

Welfare Officer of the Project Anthony Harewood said lots of lands were donated to the project by his relative. One of the presenters, Assistant Lecturer at UWI Omardath Maharaj, said other interested parties are on board to assist with the initiative.

The initiative also helps to sway at-risk youth away from a life of crime, and restore public trust in the police service.
