In an immediate reaction to the mask mandate being removed on July 17th, President of the Tobago Business Chamber, Martin George, said this was entirely appropriate at this time.
Mr. George said that COVID-19 is a disease that we will have to continue to endure, and live with for some time.
The Tobago Chamber is calling on the public to keep up with all health and hygiene protocols learnt and practiced during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Tobago House of Assembly Secretary for Health, Wellness and Social Protection says the lifting of the mask mandate did not come as a surprise.
Via voice recording, Dr. Faith B.Yisreal indicated that the world is returning to pre-Covid normal operations and Trinidad and Tobago has to do the same.
Dr. B.Yisreal also noted that she is welcoming the cautions outlined by the Health Minister including wearing masks at health facilities or elderly care institutions.
The Health Secretary urged persons to continue to be careful, to continue washing hands, to social distance and staying at home once exhibiting flu-like symptoms.
