Former West Indies batting all rounder Lendl Simmons has officially retired from international cricket.
This announcement brings the curtains down on a 16-year career that included all formats of the game.
He first made an appearance for the Windies on December 7th 2006 in the ODI format and one year later, in the T20 format.
In 2009, Simmons debuted for the West Indies Test Team at the Queen’s Park Oval. The aggressive right handed batter has two centuries and 25 half centuries at the international level, in a total of 144 matches, amassing 3,763 runs while taking eight wickets.
He once held the record for the most sixes in a T20 innings of 10, that has been surpassed.
In his Twitter post, he thanked the West Indies cricket team for the opportunities and sent best wishes to the new crop of Windies players and urged them to keep believing in their abilities.
