Finance Minister To Address Country On September 2nd

The Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, is expected to provide a comprehensive statement on this country’s financial footing on September 2nd.

One of the items on the agenda may be this country’s inflation rate, which Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said is over 5%. The Prime Minister said this is largely driven by an increase in food items, the cost of fuel, and the cost of construction materials. He said the levels of inflation are considerably less when compared to other countries facing similar challenges, adding that the Finance Minister will update the country soon.

Dr. Rowley added that the reading of the 2022/2023 budget statement, which is usually presented in the Parliament in early October, will be read at an earlier date.
