Jereem Finishes 6th At IAAF World Athletics Championships

Jereem Richards finished the sixth best 200 Metre sprinter in the world at the 2022 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon last evening.

Running out of Lane 2, Richards clocked 20.08 seconds in a race that produced the world leading time this year.

USA’s Noah Lyles broke Michael Johnson’s 26 year old record, finishing in 19.31 seconds – the third fastest time over the distance in history.

He led a US sweep with Kenny Bednarek running a Season’s Best 19.77 for Silver, while 18 year old Erryion Knighton was third in 19.80.

In the field, Keshorn Walcott was just short of qualifying for tonight’s Men’s Javelin Final.

Competing in Qualification Group A, Walcott’s best effort was 78.87 Metres – good enough for eighth.

Shericka Jackson led a Jamaica 1-2 in the Women’s 200 Metres in a championship record 21.45 seconds, her compatriot and 100 metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was second in a Season’s Best 21.81 seconds.
