The local inflation rate for the period January to June 2022 was 4.5%, compared to the same period in 2021 which was 1.1%.
This according to the Central Statistical Office (CSO) which says this represents an increase from 4.4%, which was recorded in the previous period of January to May 2022.
Contributing significantly to this was the general upwards movement in the prices of whole chickens, edible oil, frozen or seasoned beef, brown sugar, powered milk , potatoes, oranges and other chilled or frozen chicken.
