Help for constituents of Diego Martin North East was distributed by the Self Help Commission of Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.
MP for the area, Colm Imbert, who is also the Minister of Finance, said he put aside work in the office to be a part of the ceremony. He explained that 21 Grants would be handed out: Emergency Relief Grants to the tune of $25,000 for recipients, as well as the Main Repairs and Reconstruction Grant totaling $15,000 for each beneficiary.
Minister Imbert told the audience that he is committed to assisting the Self Help Commission as much as possible, to allow funds to get to those who need them.
Those receiving the Grants were extremely grateful, saying the Self Help Programme is quite helpful, enabling them to make necessary repairs to their homes.
