A catastrophe was avoided on Saturday at the Pigeon Point Beach in Tobago after a stage at a Great Fete Event collapsed. Videos of the near tragedy went viral on social media on Saturday morning.
The Great Fete Weekend Management in a post to Facebook said they were aware of videos circulating on social media showing the collapse of a portion of the fixtures erected for their Soca Glow Event.
GFW Management said the incident occurred after the party ended and there were no reported injuries.
And further stated they were informed that the collapse of the stage was a result of unusually high winds in the area.
Management is assuring its patrons that structural reinforcements were undertaken to ensure a safe party experience at tonight’s ‘We Fete’ event.
