The Toyota Aqua is one of four vehicles that are highly targeted to be stolen.
Operational Head of the Stolen Vehicle Unit at the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Inspector Lloyd Lazarus said from January to present, 113 models have been reported stolen.
He said the other vehicles include the Nissan AD Wagon, the Nissan B14, and the Toyota Fielder.
Inspector Lazarus added that the vehicles are often targeted because they have little to no security features.
Inspector Lazarus revealed that the top four Divisions for stolen vehicles include the Northern, Central, North-Eastern, and Southern Divisions.
He said that almost 50% of vehicles have been recovered, adding that the detection rate has also increased. But he urged members of the public not to resist if their vehicle is being stolen.
Inspector Lazarus cautioned against leaving running vehicles unattended, or leaving spare keys in vehicles.
