CONCACAF Caribbean Cup: Army Win, AC POS Lose

There were contrasting outcomes for T&T Premier Football League clubs Defence Force and AC Port of Spain in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.

The Army travelled to Martinique where they met Golden Lion in Fort-de-France.

It would be a hard fought match against the hosts but after a goalless first half Reon Moore got the breakthrough in the 48th minute.

That advantage held to the final whistle to give the Premier League double-champs their first win of the tournament. They are currently second in Group A

AC Port-of-Spain, away to Jamaica’s Cavalier in Kingston, had a tougher go of it.

Jalmaro Calvin opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the match to put AC on the back foot.

Calvin teed up Christopher Ainsworth who made it 2-0 on the hour mark, before Duane Muckette pulled back one for AC in the 71st minute.

AC POS is yet to get off the mark and sits bottom of Group A after two matches.
