A Place To Call Home – Music Stars Steel Orchestra Panyard Handed Over

There is yet another reason to cheer for this country’s national instrument. The recently-refurbished Trinidad and Tobago Music Stars Steel Orchestra Panyard was officially handed over on Tuesday to the people of Morvant.

The Music Stars project is one of the initiatives under the East Port of Spain Development Company Limited, geared toward providing adequate space for steelbands during the Carnival Season.

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Camille Robinson-Regis, who attended the ceremony, said the project was delivered on time and within budget. She added that on too many occasions, negative things are highlighted about East Port of Spain and said this new space will change that.

Managing Director of East Port of Spain Development Company Limited, Dr. Deborah Thomas-Austin, shared that the members of the Music Stars Steel Orchestra waited a long time for a secure place to call home.
