Paria Enquiry To Begin On September 7th

Wednesday, September 7th and Thursday, September 8th are the days set aside for the first Procedural Hearing of the Commission of Enquiry into the circumstances leading to and surrounding the deaths of four divers on February 25th at facilities operated by Paria Trading Company Limited in Pointe-a Pierre.

The Procedural Hearing will be held at Level 11, Tower D, International Waterfront Centre, #1A Wrightson Road, Port of Spain from 10:30 a.m. and is open to members of the public and to the media.

Members of the public are reminded that the Commission’s Procedural Rules can be accessed on the Commission’s website at www.coe2022.com.

The Commission was set up to investigate the February 25th tragedy that led to the deaths of Fyzal Kurban, Rishi Nagassar, Yusuf Henry and Kazim Ali Junior who were sucked into a 32-inch underwater pipeline. The divers were contracted by Paria to do underwater maintenance on a sea pipe.

Christopher Boodram is the lone survivor of the tragedy.
