The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) will undergo an organisational transformation which will see the establishment of three subsidiary companies.
This was revealed by Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Camille Robinson-Regis, who said the organisation must re-engineer its identity, financing model, and organisational structure to achieve optimal efficiency and financial viability.
Minister Robinson-Regis said the new structure for HDC is currently before the Cabinet for approval.
During a Key-Distribution Ceremony on Tuesday, the Housing Minister said the HDC’s body corporate will continue to exist but will be a holding company governed by a Board.
One of the subsidiary companies will be the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation Construction Company. The two other subsidiary companies include the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation Facilities Estate Management Company Limited, and The Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation Asset Management Company Limited.
