Trinidad and Tobago is one step closer in the procurement of the monkey pox vaccine.
According to Minister of Health Terrance Deyalsingh at Wednesday’s Ministry of Health COVID – 19 media conference, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is the only organization responsible for negotiating vaccines, with lone manufacturer Bavarian Nordic, for countries within the Latin American and Caribbean region.
The Minister said this country remains ready in the event that a case is confirmed. For now, there are no confirmed cases of the monkey pox virus in Trinidad and Tobago with all samples sent for testing returning negative.
