Scrap Iron Dealers Deny External Parties Influenced Blocking Highway

President of the Scrap Iron Dealers Association, Allan Ferguson, is refuting a Facebook comment made by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley which implied that those within this industry are being influenced by external parties. He says nothing could be further from the truth.

The Prime Minister’s comments on Facebook stemmed from reports that those within the scrap iron industry reportedly blocked the Northbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway on Monday morning, triggering a traffic jam. It is alleged that protestors dumped dirt on the highway.

The President of the Scrap Iron Association called on his members to cool their tempers and engage in peaceful protests with the organisation.

Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds expressed his displeasure at the protest which occurred this morning.
