Frustration In Matelot After Major Landslip – MP Promises Relief Soon

Residents of Matelot today staged a protest for several issues in their area.

First on their list was what they described as an “ongoing” landslide. Some of them gathered at the site, hopeful that the necessary authorities would hear their concerns.

Member of Parliament for Toco/Sangre Grande, Roger Monroe, is assuring the residents that he is actively working with the relevant issues to bring some relief to them.

He said good weather permitting, the roadway will be cleared soon. MP Monroe said the landslip occurred a few days ago and arrangements with the Ministry of Works and Transport for an emergency visit on site were made. He added that they managed to clear the roadway.
