The Water and Sewerage Authority has assured that work will soon begin to address the appearance of three sinkholes along 17th Avenue, between 6th and 7th Avenues, under the riverbed and CCC Boulevard, Main Street, Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain.
On Sunday, WASA confirmed there was a partial collapse of a sewer main in Beetham Gardens.
WASA says its Operations Division, together with specialist contractors, conducted site visits to determine the scope of works and strategise the way forward to minimise disruption in the community while observing strict health and safety protocols.
The Authority says logistics are being finalised inclusive of the de-energising of a T&TEC power line and the transport of materials and requisite equipment.
The public is advised to proceed with extreme caution around the work site and will be informed of any revised traffic arrangements as the need arises.
