The Ministry of Education is eyeing at least 42 schools for either new construction or significant repairs in this academic year.
This was announced by Education Minister, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, at the Official Commissioning of the Santa Flora Government Primary School on Monday.
She indicated that seven new schools in total would be completed in this academic year along with “critical” infrastructure work on others which have ageing infrastructure.
The Minister said a number of the schools being worked on also have a history of high levels of indiscipline, and is hoping the students see this gesture from the Ministry as an investment into them to ensure their success.
The Education Ministry also recently commissioned the Fanny Village Government Primary last week as well as the Arima Hindu Primary School and La Pastora Government ECCE Centre.
