T&T To Donate AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccines

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago will donate COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines which are due to expire soon.

In a statement from the Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne said Trinidad and Tobago has made excellent progress toward sharing our excess AstraZeneca vaccines prior to expiry.

According to Dr. Browne, his Ministry has been working closely with the Ministry of Health, and approached countries in the Caribbean and Latin America with offers of sharing AstraZeneca vaccines with them.

He said so far, Trinidad and Tobago has shared 2,500 doses of AstraZeneca with The Bahamas, 3,000 doses with St. Kitts & Nevis, and 4,500 doses with Dominica.

Additionally, this country is in the final stages of arranging other consignments for elsewhere in the region in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

This program is being conducted by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in the best spirit of regional solidarity.
