A Multi Agency Task Force conducting Operation Inchbrook II saw the seizure of thousands of dollars in cash and other items in the Northern Police Division earlier this week.
The team proceeded to various supermarkets, bars, and mini marts, where they encountered multiple breaches and infractions of various laws, codes, and standards.
Police reports indicate at one location at Broadway Street, Arima the team observed illegal gambling, namely illicit ‘Play Whe,’ was being conducted and persons participating at the roulette machines. Police then seized one cash register which was adapted for the use of Play Whe and TT$33,972 and US$100, along with Play Whe charts and a quantity of cigarettes not authorised for local sale.
The Station Roulette, Station Electronic Roulette, Wall Mount Slot Machines, and Standing Slot Machines were deemed non-conforming and subsequently quarantined at the premises.
