The body of a toddler believed to be that of Allon Ramdial was found on Monday by a Joint Team of Mayaro Lifeguards and the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Captain Vallence Rambharat and Wesley Mohammed.
An update from the Hunters Search and Rescue said the body was found at around 11:40 AM at a cove at the end of the Ortoire River Mouth.
TTT News was told that the sight of vultures scavenging at the cove alerted them to the remains – which was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The child was reported missing by his 19-year-old mother, Cristianna Ramdial, on Friday morning. It is suspected that the child wandered off and fell into the Ortoire River.
From that time to now, there has been an extensive search by the Rescue Team, villagers, Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
